early computers are very big and bulky. Very low on computation, as technology grows now, now a computers can fit into your hand. There are many types of computers. According to size, power, purpose.

Desktop computers:
the most common and first of 7 type of computer is desktop computers. This computers used for personal uses. It has separate monitor, tower size box which has motherboard and processor and keyboards. can fit on simple table.
It cannot be moved while on, most of this desktop computers. it can do basic stuff like word processing, listen music, surfing internet, you can also see this type of pc in offices.
notebook or laptops computers:
notebooks or laptops are mainly for portability, you can carry this computers everywhere. You can do all the works, on this notebooks or laptops.
you can surf internet anywhere, do your office works, meeting or video chat with anyone. Laptops also known as MacBook, netbook, ultrabook, chromebook. It can weight from 1 kg to 4 kgs.
workstation computers:
workstation computers are one of the powerfull computers in its category, some special software or programs need special powerfull processing powers, like CAD/CAM software, animation software, mostly works in offices, studios, etc.
servers computers :
this type of computers are mainly used for store data, this computers are connected with networks like lan, wan, man. The servers computers can used for database server, mail server, print server, web server.
When you access internet and visit website. It store on servers. Servers are often stored on racks in a dedicated server room. Mostly used by large companies, and giant tech companies.

mainframe computers are powerfull calculating machine. It is very big in size. Companies that requires millions of transaction with hundreds of users.
It’s a main central computers with connected with low power simple computers. The mainframe computers now also called “enterprise servers”. IBM is one of the main company who built world class mainframe pc.
supercomputers:
supercomputers is the most powerfull and biggest in terms of size and computing power. Mainly used for scientific purposes like weather forecasting, weapon simulation, virus research, drug research, A.I research.
Supercomputers have millions of processor and petabytes of storage, it use very large scale power use mainly in megawatt. They required special trained people and custom software.
SBC or single board computers:
This type of computers are often used by hobbyist. Mainly used for educational purpose. It has single all in one board that contain microprocessor, i/o connection, most common example of this computers Rasberry pi and arduino. You can control motors, connect touchscreen with this computers.
